SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Barry senior Ahmed Triki will play for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Oracle Cup singles title Saturday.

Triki, the top seed, beat Midwestern State's fourth-seeded Ramon Toyos, 7-5, 6-1, in Friday's semifinals at Surprise Tennis & Racquet Club. He will play Azusa Pacific's Oliver Frank at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in the NCAA Division II finals.

Triki broke Toyos four out of six chances, and saved six out of seven break points. He landed 49 percent of his first serve, getting his serve in 34 out of 70 times. Toyos connected on 50 of 64 first serves for 78 percent. Triki had two aces, both in the first set. He won 68 percent of his first serve points and 61 percent of his second serve points. Toyos managed 58 percent of his first serves and five of 16 second serve winners for 36 percent.

Triki won 64 percent of the second return points, while Toyos won 39 percent second return points.

This is Triki's first appearance at the fall singles championship.
