MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University's volleyball team will play three matches Friday and Saturday at the South Region Crossover at the Orlando Sports Center to try to bolster their region rankings resume.
The Buccaneers (8-5) meet Valdosta State (8-10) at 10 a.m. Friday. Barry plays North Alabama (16-3) at 4:45 p.m. Friday. The Bucs finish the weekend 2:30 p.m. Saturday with a match versus West Alabama (12-8).

Barry is 9-6 all time in Crossover matches, dating back to 2011. The Bucs went 2-1 last year at the event.
The Buccaneers beat Valdosta State in the Barry University Classic earlier this season. The Blazers have won three in a row, including a four-set win over Mississippi College Wednesday. Tristyn Sells had 13 kills in that match.
North Alabama swept West Alabama Tuesday to snap a two-match skid. North Alabama is receiving votes in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association poll. Natasha Fomina had 15 kills, while Jessica Austin and Lexie Bradley each had 10 for the Lions. Briana Sandifer had 12 kills, and Yanesha Johnson had seven for the Tigers. Barry went five sets with West Alabama at the 2014 Crossover before pulling it out.
Barry ranks 31st in the nation in blocks per set (2.20). 
The Bucs have not played in two weeks after last week's hurricane postponed road matches. Barry will play at Nova Southeastern Tuesday and return home next weekend for matches against Rollins and Embry-Riddle.
