MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Barry University opened a big week with a resounding win over NCAA Division I Nebraska-Omaha Tuesday, winning, 9-0, at Buccaneer Tennis Center.

The NCAA Division II No. 3 Buccaneers (13-0) will host NAIA No. 3 Auburn-Montgomery at 2 p.m. Wednesday in conjunction with the women's team. Omaha fell to 3-13.

Barry's doubles won all three matches, thanks to a big comeback at the third flight. Franco Echenique and Dominik Haider trailed Omaha's Marko Minic and John Ellis, 4-0, at No. 3 doubles, but came back to win 9-7. The Bucs pair broke the Mavericks in their final two serves, winning the last four games.

Barry's Fabian Groetsch and Ahmed Triki beat Nathan Greteman and Colin Buckley, 8-3, at No. 1 doubles. It was the Buccaneers' duo's sixth straight win together. Barry's Fabian Pronnet and Renato Lombardi were 8-1 winners over Erik Anderson and Ignace Warson at No. 2 doubles.

Nico Dreer, who hadn't played since losing a third set tiebreaker two weeks ago, beat Ellis, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 4 singles for the Bucs fourth point.

Haider cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Minic at No. 3 to improve to 9-1. His win clinched the match for the Bucs. Ajdin Tahirovic picked up the Buccaneers' third singles win, beating Warson, 6-1, 6-0, at the No. 5 spot.

At No. 2 singles, fourth-ranked Triki rolled to a 6-2, 6-1 win over Anderson. He is now 9-0. Austin Cruz was a 6-1, 6-1 winner over Greteman at No. 6. Groetsch, ranked third in the country, withstood a first-set test before prevailing, 7-5, 6-1, over Buckley at No. 1 singles.

After Wednesday's match with Auburn-Montgomery, the Bucs will host Eckerd at 9:30 a.m. Saturday and Rollins 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
