MELBOURNE, Fla.--Barry women's basketball battled all night and got a tough victory as they went on to upset #20 Florida Tech 86-77 in a SSC clash.
The Buccaneers went back-and-forth with the Panthers in the first half with 13 lead changes occurring in the first 20 minutes. The Bucs had the advantage in field goals (53.8 
percent-47.1 
percent) and free throws (69.2 percent-55.6 percent), but at the half, the score was tied 43-43.
The second half was much like the first with the lead trading hands again and again. But then, with 2:29 remaining the Bucs went on an 11-0 run to seal the upset victory 86-77.
Five Bucs scored in double digits tonight, with senior guard 
Kaylia Richardson leading the team with 24 points. Senior forward 
Nyjah Porcher led the Bucs with 10 rebounds and three steals. Senior guard 
Ashley Lutz led in blocks with three.
The Bucs held Florida Tech to just 8-29 (27.6 percent) from the field and 2-18 (11.1 percent) from three in the second half on their way to the upset and their first win in four games.
The win put the Bucs one game behind .500 and they look to go on a winning streak in their last few regular season games with the next contest coming on February 21
st vs Eckerd in Miami Shores with tip-off at 4 pm.
