WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Barry University men's basketball team dropped its road game to Palm Beach Atlantic on a last-second shot. The Buccaneers fell, 100-99, Saturday.
Bakari Warthen scored at the buzzer as the Sailfish beat the Bucs for the first time since 2011.
The loss snapped a five-game win streak for Barry, who will play at Saint Leo next Saturday at 4 p.m.
Both teams shot over 50 percent in a game with little separation in the second half after a big run by the Sailfish (4-4). Barry (6-2) built a 15-point halftime lead on 22 of 41 shooting. But the Sailfish went on a 9-0 run 2:52 into the second half to cut it to six, 56-50.

Tray Leonard, PBA outscored the Bucs 7-0 before
Yunio Barrueta answered with a dunk to put Barry on top by three. The Sailfish took the lead on Milos Kostic's basket with 13:47 to play. The game stayed neck-and-neck for the next eight minutes until Barrueta buried two straight 3-pointers to give the Buccaneers a 91-84 lead with 4:19 to go.
Barrueta threw down another dunk with 1:31 left to give Barry a six-point lead, but the Sailfish scored the next five points to pull within one. After Bucs forward
Adrian Gonzalez scored with 32 seconds left, Palm Beach Atlantic got within one on a basket by Warthen to set up the last-second shot.
Gonzalez shot 12 of 14 from the floor, finishing with 26 points and five rebounds. He made his first seven shots. Barrueta had 25 points and seven boards. He was nine of 17 from the field, including five of nine from 3-point range.
The Bucs were 11 of 29 from three-point range. PBA shot 13 of 25 from downtown.
Barry's
Elvar Fridriksson had 16 points and eight assists, and
Undra Mitchem had 11 points, five assists and three steals. Warthen had 27 points and seven assists.
