Volleyball Hosts Lynn 7 p.m. Tuesday

Barry wraps up home season this week

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University's volleyball team will host Lynn at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the first of the final two home matches of the season.

The Buccaneers (11-9, 6-5 Sunshine State Conference) beat Lynn (13-10, 4-7) in the first meeting in Boca Raton. But the Fighting Knights have posted some impressive wins of late, knocking off then-No. 1 Tampa in five sets two weekends ago, and sweeping Florida Tech last weekend. Barry is coming off a pair of weekend losses at Eckerd and Saint Leo.

Tuesday's match can be seen on the Buccaneers Broadcasting Network and followed via LIVE STATS.

The Buccaneers own a 21-6 series record against the Fighting Knights, including an 11-2 record at the Health & Sports Center. However, Lynn has won the last two in Miami Shores.

Lynn has six players with over 100 kills this season, including Lydia West, Cristina Lorens and Cleuza Porto. Claire Angelich is the team's leader in blocks (79), and West is second (62). Marissa Tandron is averaging 9.85 assists per set.

Barry's Ivana Didanovic had 19 kills and four blocks, hitting .500 in the first meeting between the two teams. Katie Dooley had 10 kills and four blocks, and Kaitlin Drake 11 kills. Jasmine Serna had 30 assists and 14 digs. Nicol Colonna had 16 kills, and Porto 13 for the Fighting Knights.

The Buccaneers have been outblocked 151.5 to 144.5 this season. Barry outblocked Lynn, 9-6, in the first meeting.
