MIAMI SHORES, Fla. — Barry University's volleyball team will play a couple of matches on the road on Friday and Saturday as the Buccaneers' schedule winds down.
The Buccaneers (12-10, 7-6 Sunshine State Conference) will meet the Eagles (12-14) at 7 p.m. Friday for the second time this season. Barry won against Embry-Riddle, a provisional conference member, in the first meeting in five sets.
Barry is ranked No. 8 in the South Region.
Kaitlin Drake will look to continue her stellar year. She has 262 kills on the year, racking up 868 total attacks.
Jasmine Serna, as well as
Jenny Trinidad, has been a catalyst for the Buccaneers in the assist department. They currently together have 866 assists.
Evelina Abdurakhmanova leads the Eagles in kills with 413. Ana Pajic is the second leading attacker with 265 kills. Tamires Ferreira is leading the Eagles in assists on the year with 941. Paxton Sumerr is leading the Eagles in total digs on the season with 468. She currently is averaging 4.84 digs per set. Ellen Duggan has 71 block assists and Erika Hinel 74 block assists.
The Buccaneers play Rollins on Saturday at 4 p.m., and will look to redeem their four-set loss earlier in the season to the Tars.
Brittany Jaco has 485 digs on the year, and is the Buccaneers' leader in that category. She has 5.71 digs per set.
Ivana Didanovic has 66 block assists. The Buccaneers will need their contribution as they look to win against Rollins on Saturday.
Rollins (10-16 overall, 5-8 at home) is being outscored by its opponents 1268-1142. Rachel Sawyer has racked up 201 kills to go along with 328 digs. Sawyer has 3.49 digs per set.
