Men’s Soccer Takes on SSC Foe Saint Leo

Bucs Play in Final Game of Regular Season

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry men's soccer ends its 2015 regular season Saturday night as it takes on Sunshine State Conference foe, Saint Leo.

This game was originally scheduled to be played Sep 26, but was postponed to due inclement weather.

The Buccaneers will now finish their regular season Halloween night, needing a win to further strengthen their case for an at-large bid in the NCAA Tournament.

To earn the win, the Bucs will rely on goal-scorers Thomas Coombes (8), Manuel Perez (7) and Patrick Drmola (7).

Barry goalkeeper Bo Haug has 44 saves in 14 games played this year and four shutouts to his credit.

Standing in the Bucs' way is a Saint Leo team that stands at 9-5-0 this season and 5-2-0 in SSC play, last time out for the Lions was a 4-2 win over SSC opponent, Eckerd.

Standouts on the SLU roster include junior forward Maximilian Schulze-Geisthovel, who leads the team with 13 goals this season, junior forward Matthias Katerna who is second with nine goals, and junior midfielder Bafou Sanogo, who leads the Lions with nine assists.

Defending the net will be freshman James White, who has 42 saves in 12 games played this season. He also has three shutouts to his credit.

Win tonight will give the Bucs an extra boost as they attempt to make the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2011. The game is slated to kickoff at 7 PM.
