MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—Fausto Faraldo drove in a school-record nine runs as the Barry Buccaneers lassoed the Dominican Chargers 23-2 in baseball action at Feinbloom Field Tuesday night. The Bucs pounded out 22 hits and scored a season-high in runs as they posted the most lopsided win since they defeated Nova Southeastern 28-6 in 1998.

The Bucs (19-10) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning, but the Chargers (2-6) scored one back in the second inning to cut the lead to 2-1. After the Bucs plated two more run in the third, Faraldo put the Bucs ahead comfortably in the fourth inning as he blasted a grand slam off Charger starter Steve Spitaleri (0-1).

The Bucs sent 14 batters to the plate, scoring eight runs in the fifth inning and added four in the sixth, one in the seventh and two in the eighth.

Greg Dicso (3-1) picked up the win in the split game, working three innings and allowing one run on two hits and two walks, while striking out one. Spitaleri allowed eight runs on eight hits and four walks with three strikeouts. The Charger pitchers combined to allow 14 walks.

In addition to Faraldo who had five hits to go along with the nine RBI, Cesar Aranguren went 4-for-4 with three walks and scored six runs. Radford Welch, who came off the bench in the fifth inning, went 2-for-3 with four RBI.

The Bucs host the top-ranked Spartans of the University of Tampa in a three-game Sunshine State Conference series on Friday and Saturday, Mar. 25-26.
