Box Score MIAMI SHORES – The sixth-ranked Barry University men's tennis team won its eighth straight match, toppling the Florida Southern Mocs 9-0 earlier today at the Buccaneer Tennis Center.
The Bucs (14-1, 3-1 SSC) jumped all over the Mocs (9-5, 2-2 SSC) right from the start sweeping all three doubles matches to take the early lead. In the number spot
Thomas Hipp and Gerold Wiring teamed up to beat Edgardo Santibanez and Alvaro Nunez 8-6, while Victor Rodriguez and Dirk Benninghaus took care of Milos Koprivica and Eduardo Fernandez in the number two spot 8-6. Buccaneers Sebastian Losavio and Filip Norrman then took the number three doubles 8-4 completing the sweep.
In singles action it was once again all Bucs as Barry went a perfect 6-0. Hipp was the winner in the top flight over Florida Southern's Koprivica 6-3, 6-3 and Losavio took the number two position 6-1, 6-2 over Nunez. Wiring, Rodriguez, Benninghaus and Norrman rounded up the Bucs lineup to secure the 9-0 win.
The Bucs return to action on Tuesday afternoon when they play host to Lynn University in an SSC match-up beginning at 3:00 pm.
