Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 ORLANDO, Fla. – The Barry University men's tennis team took a pair of victories in Orlando earlier today knocking off the sixth-ranked Valdosta State Blazers 6-3, and Grand Valley State 5-0.

The Buccaneers got off on the right foot winning two of the three doubles. Barry's fifth-ranked doubles team Thomas Hipp and Gerold Wiring won at number one over the Blazers' Peter Kreutzfeldt and Christoph Schneider 8-5, while Sebastian Losavio and Fillip Norrman won at the third doubles flight 9-7 over Eduardo Rincon and Michael Tang.

In singles, Rincon defeated 10th-ranked Hipp 6-3, 7-5, but 36th-ranked Wiring knocked off 12th-ranked Christoph Schneider 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 at number two. Losavio, Rodriguez and Norrman won at number three, four and six respectively, while Benninghaus retired at number five.

Against Grand Valley State, the Buccaneers won all three doubles sets by scores of 8-2, while Rodriguez and Alex Praderas won their singles matches at the second and fifth flights. The top flight in addition to the third, fourth and sixth flights were scheduled, but not played as Barry won 5-0.

The Buccaneers return to action at the Buccaneer Tennis Complex on Saturday, Mar. 13 hosting Buffalo at 2 pm.
