Box Score MAIMI SHORES, Fla.--The fifth-ranked Barry Buccaneers men's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 win over the Capital Crusaders on Tuesday at the Buccaneer Tennis Center.
The Bucs (5-0) swept through the doubles without losing a game, winning each 8-0, including Gerold Wiring and Filip Norrman at the top flight.
With the 3-0 lead, the Bucs went to their bench for the singles.
Thomas Hipp continued his run with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Rob Caress at number one.
Andres Varela at number five and Patrick Alban at number six saw their first action of the spring. Varela defeated Aaron Jones 6-0, 6-1, while Alban was perfect, winning 6-0, 6-0 over Chris Williamson.
The Bucs face Sunshine State Conference rival Florida Tech on Wednesday and host St. Vincent of Pennsylvania on Thursday.
Capital falls to 1-2 on the season.
