Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers, ranked fifth in the ITA/NCAA Division II men's tennis poll, made short work of the Florida Atlantic Owls 5-2 at the Buccaneer Tennis Center on Tuesday.

The Bucs took two of the three doubles with Gerold Wiring and Filip Norrman knocking off David Demers and FJ Schofield 8-5 at number one. At number two doubles, Barry's Dirk Benninghaus and Thomas Hipp defeated Daniel McCauley and Mauricio Paiz 8-3. The Owls' Gian Dossena and Kevin Obletz salvaged one point, nipping past Sebastian Losavio and Alexandre Praderas 9-8 at number three.

In singles, Wiring made quick work of McCauley 6-1, 6-3 at number three and Victor Rodriguez breezed past Juan Todero 6-1, 6-1 at four. Mauricio Paiz gained a point at number six, 6-1, 6-2 over Norrman. Losavio closed out the win 6-4, 6-3 over Schofield at number two. The final two matches were called with Barry leading in both.

The men return to the court on Tuesday, Feb. 17 against the Eagles of Embry-Riddle at 3:00 pm.
