Box Score ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.--The Barry Buccaneers skewered the Eckerd Tritons 54-41 in Sunshine State Conference women's basketball action Saturday afternoon at the McArthur Center.

The Bucs (9-9, 4-2 SSC) trailed 21-19 at the half after connecting on only 25.0 percent of their shots in the first half. But freshman Karla Mast picked up the pace in the second period, scoring 14 of her game-high 17 points in the period.

Mast gave the Bucs the lead for good by igniting a 10-2 runs with a three-pointer with 9:26 left in the game. Nikki Collins, who added 11 points for Barry, capped the run with another trey at the 5:21 mark.

The Bucs, who rank second in the SSC in scoring defense, held the Tritons without a double-figure scorer. Jen Ritter led Eckerd (8-10, 3-4 SSC) with nine points.

The Bucs return to the Health & Sports Center on Tuesday, Jan. 27 to host the league-leading Rollins College Tars at 5:30 pm.
