Box Score LAKELAND – The Barry University women's basketball team fell to the Florida Southern Moccasins earlier tonight 65-55 at the Jenkins Field House.

In the first half, Florida Southern (8-5, 3-1 SSC)jumped out in front right away scoring the first five points of the game before going on a 23-4 run to take a commanding 33-9 lead with 4:39 to play before the break. The Mocs continued to add to their lead and went into the half up 40-15.

Despite the slow start, the Bucs (7-8, 2-1 SSC) came out strong in the second half. With 10:48 remaining in the game, the Bucs found themselves down 60-27, however, unwilling to give up, the Bucs put together an impressive 28-5 run the rest of the way to bring themselves to within 65-55 when it was all said and done.

Yashica Nesbit was the Bucs leading scorer with 15 points which all came in the second half. Florida Southern, who had three players score in double figures, was led by Nicole Katsoff who had 12 points.

The Bucs return to action next Saturday when they host Saint Leo at 4:00 pm at the Health & Sports Center.
