Box Score CARSON, Calif.--The Barry men's soccer team dropped to 0-2-0 after falling 3-1 to the host Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros in the final round of the Far West Classic at the Home Depot Center.
The Toros (2-0-0) struck first, just 1:30 before the half, when Victor Guerrero fed Jesse Graham with a long pass and Graham found the back of the net.
Eduardo Serrano scored the game-winner at 63:17 when he knocked in a rebound from Wilmer Lopez.
Mike Lupton drew the Bucs back within one goal at the 74:30 mark.
Avi Scabini maneuvered in and drew out Toro keeper Javier Barragan and Lupton slipped a shot past him.
But the Toros had the final answer. Francisco Corona found an empty net when Barry's
Ido Langer came out to challenge a long pass from Lopez.
Langer had four saves, while Barragan had four. The Toros dodged a bullet in the 55th minute when Lupton chipped a ball over Barragan's head, but defender Brian Suarez swept the ball off the line to save the goal.
The Bucs return home to host the Nike Classic at Buccaneer Field on Friday and Sunday, Sept. 5 & 7. The Bucs face Alabama-Huntsville on Friday at 8:00 pm and UC Davis on Sunday at 3:00 pm with Nova Southeastern being the swing team.
