Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry University men's and women's tennis teams posted two wins over NCAA Division I opponents earlier today at the Buccaneer Tennis Complex. The men's team topped Rutgers 7-2, while the women's team outlasted UMass 6-3.

In the women's match, the Buccaneers lost their first two doubles matches 8-4 and 8-5, but Gizella Turbok and Valeria Papandrea posted an 8-2 victory at the number three doubles over UMass's Stephanie Price/Jafra Depontes team 8-2 for the Bucs only point in doubles. In the singles, Victoria Courmes led the Bucs at #1 over Price 6-1, 6-2 as the Bucs won the top four singles and the #6 singles.

The women improved to 14-1 overall and will return to the clay on Thursday, Mar 20 hosting Columbia at the Buccaneer Tennis Complex at 3 pm.

In the men's match, the Buccaneers won two of three doubles matches adn five of the six singles matches for the 7-2 over Rutgers. Samir M'Bioka bounced back from an ealier 8-4 loss at #1 doubles to defeat Rutgers Greg Schweitzer in three sets 3-6, 6-1, 10-8 at #1 singles. Sebasitian Losavio also went three sets but fell to Gordie Milchutsky 2-6, 6-4, 10-5.

The Bucaneers improved to 11-0 overall and will return to action on Wednesday, Mar. 19 hosting NCAA Division I Colgate at 3 pm.
