                    Box Score BOCA RATON, FL – The Lynn University women's basketball team (7-20, 4-9 SSC) defeated the Barry University Buccaneers 58-49 (9-18, 3-11) on Saturday evening at the de Hoernle Sports Center in their Sunshine State Conference regular-season finale.
Milena Chisco and Precious Wright had nine points each to lead the Lady Knights. Sanja Zivanovic's team-high 10 points led the visiting Buccaneers. Polona Oberc added seven points and 10 rebounds, including six offensive.
Lynn held a double-digit lead at the intermission, 24-14, but saw the visiting Buccaneers open up the second period on a 7-0 run to shave LU's advantage to only three points, 24-21, at the 14:51 mark.
The Knights countered with a lay-up by Michelle Newman and immediately went on a 5-0 spurt to increase the lead back to double digits. With Lynn leading by a game-high 16 points at the 5:30 mark, Barry cut the Knights advantage to eight points, 50-42, with 1:45 remaining and got within five points just under a minute.
However, Lynn answered with a 4-0 run and sealed the game with a nine-point lead.
The Buccaneeers now prepare for the Sunshine State Conference Tournament that will be held in Lakeland, Fla. and facing off with Florida Southern on Friday Feb. 28 at 8 pm.
