Box Score MIAMI SHORES – The Barry University women's basketball team dropped a close one to Moccasins of Florida Southern 67-58 Wednesday evening at the Health and Sports Center.
Florida Southern jumped out to an early 14-3 lead at the 12:17 mark, but the Bucs rallied going on a 13-0 run to close out the first half with a 29-27 lead.
In the second half, it was the Bucs who came out strong, extending their lead to 44-31 with 14:39 to play. However, Florida Southern turned it on late, going on a 14-0 run to take the lead at 56-51 with just minutes remaining in the game. The Mocs eventually went on to win 67-58.
The Bucs had three players score in double figures. Polona Oberc led the way with 16 points, while Sanja Zivanovic added 15. Yashica Nesbit also added a career high 15 points.
Florida Southern was led by Brook Kohlheim who scored 15 points.
The Bucs return to action Feb. 15 as they visit Rollins College at 2:00 pm.
