Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla.--The top-seeded Barry Buccaneers carried their domination of Sunshine State Conference women's soccer into the post-season, with a 2-1 win in the SSC Tournament championship game over the Tampa Spartans Sunday afternoon at Buccaneer Field.

The Bucs, winners of 39 straight regular season games dating back to 1998, swept through the first SSC Women's Soccer Tournament to claim the tournament title along with the regular season championship.

Lindsey Raby and Britt Miazgowicz combined to give the Bucs (15-4-2) the early lead. Raby lifted a corner kick into the box and Miazgowicz headed it home for the game first goal in the 12th minute.

Samantha Robinson evened the game for the Spartans (16-5-0) just minutes into the second half, drilling a shot from 27 yards out over the head of Barry keeper Johanna Fischer.

The Bucs regained the lead in the 61st minute with some nifty passing up the right sideline. Jenna Cernuto fed Tiina Saario with a pass along the top of the penalty box and Saario blasted home the game-winner.

Fischer, who saw her five-match shutout streak end, made three saves for the Bucs, who out-shot the Spartans 31-7, including 13-4 on goal. Jade Berbert stopped 11 shots for the Spartans.

Saario, who scored four goals in the tournament, was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player. She was joined on the All-Tournament team by teammates Fischer, Miazgowicz, Emelie Karlsson, Ulla Matikainen and Kassy Slattery. Robinson, who also scored four goals, earned a spot for Tampa along with Katie Levine and Malana Winskas. Casie Poyssick of Saint Leo and Laura Guild of Rollins also were named to the team.

Both Barry and Tampa await word on Monday on bids to the NCAA South Regional.
