Box Score ST. LEO, Fla. -- The sixth-ranked Barry University volleyball team slayed the Saint Leo Lions in three 30-22, 30-16, 30-23 earlier today in Sunshine State Conference action.
The Buccaneers (22-2, 12-0 SSC) fell behind in each of the three games, but fended off the Lions (11-17, 2-10 SSC) for the win extending their win streak to 54 consecutive games.
Fernanda Ferreira led the Buccaneers with her fifth double-double of the year. She finished with a match-high 17 kills and 12 digs and posted a .438 attack percentage.
Daniela Lanza directed the Buccaneer attack with 37 assists.
Alison Baker led the Saint Leo efforts with 11 kills and a .226 hitting percentage. Morgan Mander posted a match-high 16 digs, while Nicole Groesbeck registered 29 assists.
The Buccaneers will return to action on the road next Friday, Nov. 14 taking on SSC nemesis University of Tampa at 7 pm.
