Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla.--The Barry women's soccer team built a 4-0 first half lead and coasted into the Sunshine State Conference semifinals with a win over Lynn at Buccaneer Field Tuesday night.

Britt Miazgowicz chipped in the game-winner in the 11th minute when the Knight's defense failed to clear the ball out of the penalty box.

Tiina Saario added another goal just five minutes later with an assist from Kassy Slattery. One minute later, Emelie Karlsson knocked home a goal with an assist from Saario with some nifty passing on the right wing.

Candice DeFreitas closed out the scoring in the 38th minute when Ulla Matikainen pushed a long pass up the middle and DeFreitas out-raced the Lynn (7-10-1) defense to slot a shot past keeper Maegan Vondal.

Johanna Fischer stopped four shots for Barry (13-4-2) to post her fourth straight shutout and sixth of the season. Vondal made six saves in the first half, before giving way to Kelly Friedrich in the second half. Freidrich had one save and did not allow a goal.

The Bucs advance to face the Rollins College Tars, 2-1 winners over Florida Southern, in the semifinals at 7:00 pm on Friday at Buccaneer Field.
