Women's Soccer Strolls Past Tritons

Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla.--The Barry Buccaneers closed out their fifth straight undefeated Sunshine State Conference women's soccer title with a 1-0 win over Eckerd at Buccaneer Field Sunday afternoon.

The Bucs' Emelie Karlsson stepped up in the 72nd minute and rammed home a goal after Lindsey Raby chipped a shot off the crossbar for the game's only score.

The Bucs (12-4-2, 7-0-0 SSC) completely dominated the game, out-shooting the scrappy Tritons (3-12-3, 28-1 and holding a 5-0 advantage in corners.

Johanna Fischer stopped the only shot she faced to record her third straight shutout and fifth of the season. Meghan Ibar was the sole shining spot for the Tritons, stopping 11 shots to keep the game close.

The Buccaneers, regular-season champions of the SSC, will host eighth-seed Lynn in a quarterfinal round game in the inaugural SSC Women's Soccer Tournament on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 7:00 pm. The Buccaneer men will host Florida Tech at 4:30 pm prior to that game.
