Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The fourth-ranked Barry University volleyball team swamped the Florida Southern Moccasins 30-15, 30-27, 30-24 in Sunshine State Conference play earlier this afternoon at the Health & Sports Center.

The Mocs (7-12, 3-2 SSC) took an early 4-3 lead to start the match, but behind Fernanda Brino's three consecutive service aces and the Bucs' .571 team attack percentage and 19 kills, Barry (13-2, 5-0 SSC) took the first game 30-15.

In the second game, the Mocs showed their poise and discipline and exchanged leads several times with the talented Buccaneer squad. However, the Bucs settled in for the 30-27 win. Kelly Dantas led the Barry troops in the final game registering five kills and a .500 hitting percentage as the Bucs won the final game 30-24.

Simone Ferrarezi and Dantas each posted 12 kills to lead the Bucs, while Dantas finished with a team-high .600 hitting percentage. Danila Lanza directed the Bucs with a match-high 41 assists and led the Bucs with six blocks.

Florida Southern's Jenni Holste dominated the match posting a match-high 14 kills on 20 attempts, while blistering the opposition with a .700 attack percentage. Jordan McAfee led the Mocs with 28 assists.

The Bucs extend their win streak to nine matches hitting .321 as a team against a talented Florida Southern team, while the Mocs finished with a .192 team attack percentage. The Bucs have also won 27 consecutive games, only one shy of tying the school record of 28 set in 1994.

The Bucs will resume action on Saturday, Oct. 11 hosting Eckerd at 4 pm in conference play in the Health & Sports Center.
