Box Score JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The second-ranked Barry University volleyball team clipped the fifth-ranked North Florida Ospreys in three games 30-22, 30-26, 30-26 in south region play earlier today at the UNF Arena.
The Buccaneers (16-2) jumped out to an early 17-8 lead in the first game taking the host Ospreys by surprise. The Ospreys (17-2) came within six of the highly touted Barry team, but the Bucs went on to win 30-22.

Fernanda Brino served off the next five points, including two service aces, allowing the Buccaneer to regain control and hold out for the 30-26 win.
In the final game, the Ospreys took their first lead in the match at 10-9, but it was short lived. The Buccaneers regained the lead 11-10 and ran to a 30-26 win in the final set to win the match 3-0.
Fernanda Brino led the Buccaneer charge with her fifth double-double this season. She matched her season-high 17 kills, while also hitting .467, registering 16 digs, five service aces and two solo blocks.
Simone Ferrarezi finished with 10 kills, while
Daniela Lanza directed the Buccaneer attack with 41 assists.
The Buccaneers held North Florida's All-American Jackie Struck, who led the Ospreys, to only 11 kills on the night.
The Buccaneers will return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at Nova Southeastern in non-conference action.
