Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The Barry University women's basketball (9-8, 3-1 SSC) team slipped by conference opponent Saint Leo (9-8, 1-3 SSC) 75-64 Saturday afternoon at the Health & Sports Center.

The Lions opened the game with an early 10-6 lead at the 15:59 mark, but the Buccaneers came back going on a 10-0 run later in the half to put themselves ahead 20-13 with 9:28 to play and saw their lead extend to 13 as they headed into the locker rooms.

In the second half, the Bucs continued to stretch their lead to 47-31 at the 16:51 mark, but the Lions managed to come all the way back cutting the lead to 68-64 with just 48 seconds to play. However, the Bucs proved to be too much as they shot 5-6 from the line during the last 30 seconds to secure the 75-64 win.

The Bucs Candace Blackbird led all scorers with 22 points, while Amra Alagic followed with 16 and Sanja Zivanovich added 11. Buccaneer Lauren Weaver tied her career-high point total pouring in 10 points.

Saint Leo was led by Ebony Winn who scored 15 points.

The Bucs return to the friendly confines of the Health & Sports Center Saturday, January 25, as they take on Rollins College at 4:00 PM.
