Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla.--The Barry Buccaneers jumped out to a huge lead and cruised to a 76-60 Sunshine State Conference win over the Eckerd Tritons in women's basketball at the Health & Sports Center Wednesday night.

Barry (8-8, 2-1 SSC) led 15-10 with 12:09 left in the first half and then sprinted to a 31-6 run to close the frame and go into the intermission up 46-16. Eckerd (9-7, 0-3 SSC) shot only 20.0 percent in the period and 32.7 percent for the game.

A short jumper by Yojana Rodriguez at 8:47 of the second period put Barry up by 32, 69-37, for the biggest lead of the game. But the Tritons would not give up, out-gunning the Bucs 21-9 the rest of the way to make the final margin.

Barry's Candace Blackbird led all scorers with 22 points and a game-high seven assists. Sanja Zivanovic added 16 points and Rodriguez had 10. Jen Ritter led the Tritons with 17 points, while Stefanie Mihalopolous and Kate Berger each had 11.

Barry hosts the Saint Leo Lions on Saturday, January 18 at 2:00 pm.
