Box Score LAKELAND, Fla. -- The #20 Barry University volleyball team fell in a heartbreaking match against the #7 West Texas A&M Lady Buffs 3-0 earlier tonight at the Jenkins Field House in Lakeland, Fla.
Although the games were tight, the Lady Buffs demanded control throughout the match winning all three games 30-27, 30-27, and 30-25.
The Buccaneers were paced by
Karla Bersano with 12 kills, 15 digs and a .308 attack percentage.
Kelly Dantas followed with 11 kills, while
Fernanda Ferreira tallied 10. Setter,
Daniela Lanza added 38 assists.
Shannon Stroud paced the Lady Buffs with a match-high 15 kills and a .314 attack percentage. Jess Anne Fernandes and Jenny Donohoo followed with 13 and 10 kills respectively.
The loss drops the Bucs to 5-5 on the year and their fifth loss this season to a top-25 opponent. The Lady Buffs improved 12-2. The Buccaneers will end their weekend action traveling to Saint Leo and returning to Sunshine State Conference play taking on the Lions at 2 pm tomorrow.
