Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla.--The Barry women's soccer team dominated the St. Thomas Bobcats 3-0 at Buccaneer Field Thursday night.
Emelie Karlsson scored the game-winning goal 19:40 into the game with an assist from Pam McDonald. McDonald has either scored or assisted on all four of the Buccaneers' (4-0-0) game-winning goals this season.
McDonald scored her team-leading third goal of the season at 59:34 with a double assist from Karlsson and
Marie Gunnarsson. Karlsson closed out the scoring in the final minute, knocking home a rebound on a shot by Gunnarsson.
"The team worked well together," Barry head coach Kyllene Carter-Weiss said after the game. "Johanna has been amazing in the goal every game and Kassy (Slattery) has continuously improve at sweeper."
Johanna Fischer notched her third shutout of the season, making only one save as the Buccaneers out-shot the Bobcats (1-2-0) 39-1. Diane Epp had 12 saves for St. Thomas.
The Bucs' domination was keyed by stopper
Britt Miazgowicz. She repeatedly turned back the St. Thomas attack and the Bobcats were rarely able to penetrate past midfield.
"This game helped us work towards improving for the next three games," Miazgowicz said. "The next opponents we face will be much tougher as we start conference play and the games should be more exciting."
The Bucs are back in action on Wednesday against arch-rival Lynn. Game time is 7:00 pm, after the men's game against Nova Southeastern.
