Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla.--The #15-ranked Barry Buccaneers stunned the #16 ranked Lees-McRae Bobcats by rebounding from a 2-1 doubles deficit with wins at the top four singles flights and a 5-2 win.
The Bobcats started out strong, with Jaco Kruger and Andres Intriago winning 8-5 at number one doubles and Jarrah Robertson and Felipe Castanheira surviving a tiebreaker to win 9-8 at number two doubles. But the Bucs pulled out a win at number three doubles 8-6 behind Phillipe Lacombe and Perry Bakst.
The big upset came at number one singles when Barry's Samir M'Bioka, ranked 12th in the latest ITA poll, knocked #1-ranked Kruger 6-4, 7-6. Sebabstian Losavio defeated Intriago 6-1, 7-5 at number two singles. Erik Holubec fought off a sore back to win 6-3, 6-4 at number three singles over Robertson and Lacombe provided the winning point with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Castanheira at number four. The Bucs also led in the other two singles.
Barry improves to 7-7, while Lees-McRae drops to 10-4.
