Boca Raton, Fla. – The Barry women's soccer team out-dueled the Lynn University Knights for a 3-1 victory at McCuster Sports Complex this afternoon to keep their 17 game winning streak alive.
Pam McDonald put the Bucs up 1-0 putting in the only goal in the first half off a corner kick by
Colleen Gramlich at 36:03.
Tammie Thornton gave the Bucs offense just the boost it needed when she blasted a shot from inside the box to put the Bucs up 2-0 just 4:44 into the second half. Pam McDonald followed suite as Thornton put the ball eight yards out for McDonald to put in the Bucs' final goal of the game, increasing their lead to 3 goals.
Although the Knights were allowed only five shots by the Buccaneer defense, Kim Pyra found the back of the net off a free kick at the top of the box to give the Knights their only goal of the game.
Johanna Fischer posted two saves on five shots and improves her record to 17-0-0. Lynn keeper Maegan Vondel tallied six saves on 24 shots.
The Buccaneers improve their record to 17-0-0 overall, 11-0-0 in the Sunshine State Conference while Lynn falls to 6-7-4, 4-4-3 in the SSC.
