Taking teams lightly is something no team should ever do, however, the Buccaneers seemed to have underestimated the Tars in today's match. Rollins crept onto the court, but steamed off with a 3-0 upset of the 16th-ranked Buccaneers.
Gaining a full head of steam, the Tars jumped out to an early lead in game one. The highly-touted Buccaneers tried to regain their composure, but were unable to rebound from the early deficit, falling 30-26 in the first game.
Continuing their charge in the final two games, the dominating Tar attack remained just ahead of the dwindling Buccaneer efforts as they squeaked by in game two 32-30 and cruised to a 30-26 win in game three.
Both teams had four players registering double-digit kills. Rollins' Tammara Sanchez paced all teams collecting a match-high 14 kills.
