Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla.--The Barry women's soccer team cruised past the Tampa Spartans 4-0 in Sunshine State Conference action at Buccaneer Field Friday night.
With a defense that has allowed only two goals in 14 matches,
Emelie Karlsson gave the Buccaneers (14-0-0, 9-0-0 SSC) all the offense they would need just 7:55 into the game.
Britt Miazgowicz and
Marie Gunnarsson worked the ball up the field and Karlsson chipped a 17-yard shot over Tampa (5-8-0, 4-3-0 SSC) keeper Jade Berbert.
Olga Vargus made the game 2-0 at the half and
Tiina Saario added a pair of second-half goals, including one with :26 seconds left in the game, for the final margin.
The Buccaneers out-shot the Spartans 25-5, including 12-3 on goal. Keeper
Johanna Fischer had three saves, while Berbert had eight for the Spartans.
The Bucs conclude their home schedule on Sunday, October 20 against Eckerd at 1:00 pm.
