Women's Basketball Slays Lions

Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla.--The Barry women's basketball team slew the Saint Leo Lions 80-70 at the Health & Sports Center Saturday afternoon in Sunshine State Conference play.

The game started in see-saw fashion, with the Bucs sprinting out to a 22-4 lead in the first eight minutes. But the Lions stormed back to tie the game 24-24 with 7:51 left in the period. The Bucs regained control to go into the half up 41-33.

In the second period, the Bucs never relinquished the lead, stretching out the margin to as much as 17 points, before settling for the 10-point win.

Jaida Williams led the Bucs with 24 points, while Amra Alagic added 21 points and 11 rebounds. Tenly Schofield led the Lions with 14 points.

Barry improves to 10-8, 3-3 in the conference, while Saint Leo falls to 5-13, 0-6 in the league.
