Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry University volleyball team, ranked 8th in Division II, put another notch in their win column as they skinned the Bobcats of St. Thomas University Tuesday night 3-0.
The cross-town rival Bobcats didn't make it easy for the Buccaneers to earn the victory fighting their way to the very end in games one and two 30-24 and 30-26. However, the overpowering Bucs came out in game three making few mistakes and winning 30-14.
Daniela Lanza (So, OH, Sao Paulo, Brazil) led the Buccaneer winning effort with a team high 9 kills and a .500 hitting percentage while
Simone Ferrarezi (Jr, OH, Sao Paulo, Brazil) was a close second with 8 kills and a team high 10 digs.
The Bobcats were paced by Helen Lasichanh with 12 kills and a .304 hitting percentage.
The Buccaneers improved to 11-1 for the season while the Bobcats fell to 8-4. The Buccaneers will be back in action on Friday at 7:00 p.m. at the University of Tampa, who is currently ranked #10 in the country.
