Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry University volleyball team had five players hit better than .385 to lead the Buccaneers to a Sunshine State Conference victory over Saint Leo University on Saturday afternoon.
Continuing their domination at the nets, the Buccaneers defeated the Lions in three games 30-20, 30-25, and 30-22 to remain undefeated in the SSC.
Sophomore hitter,
Karla Bersano paced the Buccaneers with 15 kills on 27 attemps and a .407 hitting percentage and 12 defensive digs. However, it was sophomore hitter
Fernanda Ferreira who got it done at the nets with a team high six blocks, 13 kills and a .417 hitting percentage. Setter
Meghan Clarke added 31 assists in the Buccaneers winning efforts.
Saint Leo was paced by Cristiana Florea with 15 kills and a .400 hitting percentage and 10 defensive digs. Lion setter Rachael Yockey led with 31 assists.
The Buccaneers improved to 10-1 overall and 2-0 in the SSC while Saint Leo falls to 10-4 and 1-1 in the league.
The Buccaneers will be back in action on Tuesday, September 25 at 7:00 p.m. as they host St. Thomas University in a non-conference match.
