Box Score The Barry University women's soccer team (15-0-0 overall, 5-0-0 SSC) won three games last week, including two conference victories and a win over the No. 2 ranked team in the country.
Junior forward
Ashley Snell and freshman forward Kirsten Buteau each scored two goals with one assist Tuesday as No. 1 Barry defeated Sunshine State Conference rival Saint Leo 9-0 at Buccaneer Field.
Britt Miazgowicz got the Bucs on the scoreboard at the 1:59 mark with her fourth goal of the year and second straight game-winner.
Senior forward
Jenny Nilsson scored her 20th goal of the season at the 28:59 mark to set a new single season record for the Buccaneers (13-0-0, 4-0-0 SSC).Â
The Bucs also got single goals from
Lauren Ruda,
Erika O'Brien and
Sarah Johnson.
Stephanie O'Brien added two assists.
"It felt good to get out on top early,"
Erika O'Brien said after the game. "It helped settle us down and work the ball around, maintain possession."Â
Barry outshot the Lions (0-11-0, 0-4-0 SSC) 48-0 and also set a record for corner kicks in a game with 20.
