Ashley Snell scored twice and added an assist and
Tammie Thornton added one goal and two assists.
Snell put the Bucs up 1-0 at the 10:58 mark.
Erika O'Brien drove the ball through the middle and Thornton found Snell all alone at the top of the six-yard box. Snell slotted the ball to the near post and Barry led 1-0.
The score stayed 1-0 to half-time, but five minutes into the second period. Pam MacDonald and
Marie Gunnarsson teamed up on a beautiful goal. McDonald won the ball in the midfield and made a quick pass up to Gunnarsson who deftly chipped the ball over the head of Sharon Kerby, the Argonaut keeper, for a 2-0 lead.
Snell added her second goal at the 83:42 mark, again with an assist from Thornton.
Thornton closed out the scoring with :13 seconds remaining. Snell won a ball in the corner and found Thornton all alone in the middle of the penalty area for the easy score.
The game was much tighter than the final score would indicate as the Bucs held a slim 14-9 edge in shots.
Johanna Fischer recorded her ninth shutout of the season, making two saves. Kerby had two saves for the Argonauts.
West Florida had won the regular season meeting between the two teams 2-1 back in September.
Snell's assist moved her past Erin Jaeger and
Jenny Nilsson as the top assist maker in Barry history with 37 career assists.
The Bucs run their record to 16-3-0, while West Florida falls to 18-3-0. Barry advances to play the top seed, Christian Brothers, on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 4:00 pm in Memphis, Tenn., in the South Regional final.
