Box Score LAKELAND, Fla. – The Barry University volleyball team rallied back after losing the opening game to defeat the Florida Southern Moccasins 3-1 tonight in a Sunshine State Conference match-up.
After taking fifteen straight games in five matches, the Buccaneers had their perfect streak come to an end losing the first game of the match against the Moccasins 30-32. However, the Buccaneers regained control winning the final three games 30-17, 30-24, and 30-24.
Leading the Buccaneers to victory was
Tricia Stanton (Sr., MH, Los Angeles, Calif.) with 14 kills on 23 attempts and a .565 attack percentage.
Rochelle Magill (Jr., OH, Florence, Ariz.) followed with 13 kills and Fernanda Ferrreira (So., MH, Sao Paulo, Brazil) with 12 kills.
Misti Neutzling paced the Mocs with 17 kills.
The Buccaneers improved to 21-2 and 7-1 in the Sunshine State Conference while the Moccasins fell to 9-16 and 3-6 in the SSC. The Buccaneers will return to action on Sunday, October 28th at 2:00 p.m. facing off with Saint Leo on the road.
