Box Score MIAMI, Fla. – The Barry University volleyball team outlasted the St. Thomas University Bobcats earlier tonight 3-0 in non-conference action. The victory completed a two game sweep of the Bobcats for the season.
From the opening serve it was the Buccaneers who were in control winning all three games 30-22, 30-20, and 30-20.
Simone Ferrarezi (Jr., OH, Sao Paulo, Brazil) led the winning charge for the Buccaneers with an outstanding performance. Posting 20 kills on 34 attempts, a .500 attack percentage and nine digs, Ferrarezi led the Bucs in all categories.
Karla Bersano (So., OH, Sao Paulo, Brazil) added 10 kills on 24 attempts and a .250 attack percentage.
The game also marked the comeback of senior setter
Meghan Clarke (Sr., S, Laguna Niguel, Calif.) who has been nursing a back injury for the past three weeks of the season. In Clarke's return, she posted three assists and two digs.
Helen Lasichanh paced the Bobcats with 14 kills on 29 attempts and a .345 attack percentage.
The Buccaneers improved to 20-2 overall improving their current win streak to nine games while the Bobcats fell to 18-8. The Buccaneers will return to action on Saturday, October 27th traveling to Lakeland, Fla. taking on SSC opponent Florida Southern at 7:30 p.m.
