Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers took their frustrations out on the Florida Tech Panthers to the tune of an 11-0 win at Buccaneer Field Wednesday night.
Alen Marcina and
Fitzgerald Clarke both scored hat tricks in the contest while
James Ryan had two goals and
Mike Lupton,
Kelvin Lima and Carlos Palaez each scored once. The Buccaneers scored five goals in the first half and six in the second over the out-manned Panthers.
The 11 goals tied the school record set Nov. 2, 1985 against Saint Leo. The Buccaneers set two other records in the game: shooting 46 times and attempting 14 corner kicks. The previous high for shots was 29 set in two games, while the record for corners was 12 set in 1999 against Lynn.
Ron Goguen ran his record to 5-1-1 without having to make a save in the first half. Willie Leiste mopped up in the second half and also did not make a save. Derek McElwee recorded 11 saves for the Panthers.
Barry is now 8-1-3, 2-1-1 in the Sunshine State Conference. Florida Tech falls to 1-8-4, 0-4-0 in the SSC. The Buccaneers travel to San Antonio, Texas to play Incarnate Word and St. Edward's Oct. 18-20.
