Frank Gonzalez joined the academic support team in 2017-18 as the graduate assistant, overeeing the academic progress, requirements and administrative duties for Barry's athletic department and all of its student-athletes. He also worked individually with student-athletes, providing tutoring and academic support on a case-by-case basis.
He was promotoed to Assistant AD for Academic Services in 2021-22 and to Associate AD for Academics and Support Servicesin the summer of 2022.
In his current role, he has oversight of the academic programs for all student-athletes and has designated sport program management. He also provides leadership of our athletic compliance staff and develops programming, training, and education as it relates to mental health, social justice, and professional development for coaches, staff and student-athletes.
Gonzalez helped the athletic department launch the operation of the video board in the Health & Sports Center in 2018-19 and upgraded the Buccaneers social media graphics.
A four-year member of the baseball team, Gonzalez was a .270 hitter in 66 games, scoring 36 runs and driving in 39. He split time at various infield positions.
Gonzalez earned a pair of degrees from Barry. He graduated in 2016 with a degree in computer information science and earned his master's degree in business administration and sport management in 2019.
