AJ Ewart won the award for the second straight year, becoming the first repeat winner since Yunio Barrueta (2015 & 2016). Ewart leaves Barry as one of the most decorated golfers in program history. A three-time 1^st-team All-American, the 2022 Jack Nicklaus Award winner as the best golfer in Division II and the 2022 GolfStat Cup Champion as the best college golfer across all divisions. Ewart set the school record for career wins at 14, including three straight medals at the end of the year, the Bobcat Invitational, The Battle At The Shores and the SSC Championship, where he set a record for low score and low round. He led the team to the semifinals of matchplay at the NCAA Championship and was the only member of the team to win both of his matches. For men's golf, five awards have gone to the team, all since 2010. Jorge Garcia, who split the award in 2019 with Francisco Greco (men's soccer), was the last.
