In a five-set win against No. 4 Tampa, the sophomore put up a school-record 42 kills on 96 attempts with nine errors for a .344 hitting percentage. The Russian followed with 18 kills on 48 attempts with six errors for a .250 hitting percentage as Barry won, 4-1, against Eckerd. Akopova also provided the Buccaneers with 16 digs, four blocks, an assist, and an ace in her nine sets played. She becomes the 47th athlete to win five or more SSC Weekly Awards in a single season, seventh from Barry.
