Elvar Fridriksson was named the Sunshine State Conference men's basketball Defensive Player of the Week after setting a career high with three blocks against Florida Southern while also recording four steals and five defensive rebounds to help the Buccaneers claim the No. 1 seed in the SSC Championship Tournament. The Njardvik, Iceland native then had a steal and five defensive rebounds in the regular season finale against Embry-Riddle, to go along with a career-high 37 points. Fridriksson was also active on the offensive side of the court as he averaged 32.0 points and 9.5 assists.
