Biography

Tyler will serve as the closer for us this year. He is not your traditional closer with normally just one pitch to rely on. Tyler throws three pithes for strikes and when he's on, he is very tough.
JUNIOR (2010): Tied for the team lead in wins with six in his first season as a Buccaneer… Tallied a 6-1 record… Ranked second on the team in earned run average with a 4.54 ERA in 35.2 innings pitched, 17 appearances, and four starts… Held opponents to a mere .282 average… Struck out 32 batters and only walked nine… Allowed a team-best 18 earned runs.
PREVIOUS COLLEGE (UCONN AVERY POINT): Played for coach Roger Bidwell ... Went 7-2 on the mound as a sophomore ...For his career, had a 2.12 ERA with 60 strikeouts .. Earned Second-Team All-America.

HIGH SCHOOL:  Earned four letters for Coach Mike Phalen ... Went 11-2 as a senior with a 0.96 ERA ... Batted .450 ... Was 25-6 overall ... Earned team MVP award ... Also played football for the Crusaders.
 
PERSONAL: Son of James and Lisa King ... Has two older siblings, Ryan and Jamie ... Majoring in business management.
