Dr. Kevin Padin

Dr. Kevin Padin joined the Buccaneer athletic staff in the spring of 2023 as the head coach for both men's and women's cross country, restarting programs that had been discontinued in 1993. He went on to start outdoor track programs for both men and women, leading them to the Sunshine State Conference meet in the first season of league competition in 2025.

Padin came to The Shores from Florida National, where he was an assistant track & field coach and head cross country coach for the Conquistadors for their first two seasons.

His first season, Padin guided his Conquistadors through a strong finish where multiple individual and team records were broken. Both men’s and women’s teams finished as Continental Atlantic Conference (CAC) runner up. He had multiple runners named CAC First-Team; one on the men's side and two on the women's side. The two women also earned trips to the NAIA National Championship. In the 2022 fall season, Padin coached three NAIA national qualifiers, finished runner-up in the CAC women’s division, and had several runners of the week.

Padin came to FNU in November of 2020 from Coral Gables High where he served as the head coach of the track & field program, overseeing all aspects of the program. He also served as an assistant coach on the Cavalier football staff.

From 2012-2015, Padin worked at St. Brendan High School in Miami, Florida, as the co-head coach of the school’s track & field team and an assistant with the Sabre’s cross country team.

Padin got his start in collegiate athletics as a student physical therapist in the athletic training room at the University of Miami.

Padin’s certifications include USA Track & Field (level II), USA Weightlifting (level I), and NSCA certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS).

A graduate of Coral Gables High School, Padin was a four-year letter winner in track & field and football.

Padin earned a bachelor of science in entomology and nematology from the University of Florida in 2011. He went on to earn a doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Miami in 2018.
