HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Sharks struck first, taking victories in the top and bottom doubles flights for an early lead in singles play.
- No. 33 Michalitsch answered quickly for the Bucs, putting Barry on the board with a dominant 6-1, 6-0 win over Boegner.
- Lutringer followed with a steady performance, defeating Dadoun 6-3, 6-3 to give Barry its first lead of the match.
- Nova responded to even the score at 2-2, as Sagadiyava defeated Anger in a tight 7-6(2), 6-4 battle.
- No. 15 Dema then swung the momentum back in Barry's favor with a three-set victory over No. 28 Henderson, 6-1, 5-7, 6-3, to put the Bucs within one point of clinching the match.
- No. 50 Crespo sealed the victory for the Bucs, rallying for a 5-7, 6-4, 7-6(4) upset over No. 34 Markus.
- Number eight Heimen closed out the day with another statement win, completing Barry's second upset with a hard-fought 6-1, 6-7(4), 7-6(5) victory over to-ranked Hranacova.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Michalitsch has a 9-0 undefeated record this season in singles.
- Dema is also undefeated in singles with a perfect 8-0 record.
- In doubles, the duo of Heimen and Anger remains undefeated this season, winning all 10 of their matches.
- With this win, the Bucs have clinched a share of the SSC regular season title and the number one seed in the SSC Tournament.
