ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- The Barry University women's tennis team completed its fifth conference win this week against No. 23 Eckerd College, winning the match 6-1 to move the Bucs to a 16-1 record for the season and a perfect 5-0 record in the conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Barry delivered a dominant performance in doubles, as the pairs of Crespo and Lutringer and Nikolova and Dema each earned commanding 6-1 victories, while Michalitsch and Heimen added a 6-2 win to give the Bucs early momentum and a 1-0 lead heading into singles.
- Brun wasted no time extending the lead, cruising to a 6-0, 6-1 win over Fernandini.
- No. 21 Dema followed with an equally commanding 6-3, 6-0 victory, putting Barry just one point away from clinching the match
- Nikolova delivered the decisive point, defeating Novak 6-3, 6-2 to secure the team win for the Bucs.
- Lutringer took down Johnson 6-4, 6-2, and Sperb handled Bettinelli 6-3, 6-3 to make the score 6-0 Barry.
- To close out the match, No. 7 Heimen battled in a tightly contested matchup but fell in an upset to No. 33 Lindstaf. After dropping the first set 6-3, Heimen rallied to take the second 6-2, before ultimately coming up just short in the 10-point tiebreaker 1-0(9).
