MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The 23
rd-ranked Barry Softball team strung together their first two wins of the season to kick off another six game stint at Buccaneer Field. The offense dominated once again, while the pitching settled in. Game one drew a top 25 match up where the Bucs took down 15th ranked East Stroudsburg. In the second game, Barry walked it off in run rule fashion off a grand slam by the freshman, Vivian Billard. She picked up her first collegiate win and set a new freshman record for RBI in a game, tying the program record set in 2007.

HOW IT HAPPENED (ESU):
- T1 | The Warriors got on the board first as a hit by pitch came around and scored. Haelee Angelico was able to get out of a bases loaded jam with a line out to Serah Shafer. | ESU 1, Barry 0
- B2 | The Bucs got the equalizer as Chandler Barry got a lead off double to get the inning going. A wild pitch moved her over and a passed ball brought her home. | Barry 1, ESU 1
- B5 | A four spot in the bottom of the fifth got the big spark of energy for Barry. The speedy Shafer dropped a bunt single, stole second and advanced on a wild pitch to quickly put her 60 feet away. With the bases loaded, Barry delivered once again with a single to the right center gap to bring home Shafer and Tucker. Billard came up with a sacrifice fly on a foul out to bring home Sarah Langlie on a replay reversal. Alexis Martin helped her cause with a base hit up the middle to bring home another run. | Barry 5, ESU 1
- B6 | The bats stayed hit in the next inning with another crooked number on the board. Back to back bunt singles and a throwing error put Shafer and Tucker in scoring position. Barry and Billard had back to back walks to load them up and push in a run. Martin picked up her second RBI with a sac fly to center. | Barry 8, ESU 1
NOTEWORTHY (ESU):
- Four Buccaneers picked up multi-hit games with Shafer, Tucker, Barry, and Martin.
- It was the fifth straight game with double digit hits for the Bucs offense.
- Martin picked up her first win in the circle this season behind six solid innings, tying her career-high in strikeouts at seven.
- Her final line was 6 innings pitch, two hits, seven strikeouts, no walks, no runs.
- The win snaps a three game losing streak to the Warriors.
HOW IT HAPPENED (BENTLEY):
- T2 | Bentley took the lead first with a three spit in the top of the second. A walk and two base hits loaded them up with one away. A sacrifice fly brought home one, while the second run came following a single. The third run came on a first and third play that scored the runner on third. | Bentley 3, Barry 0
- B2 | The Bucs scratched for one back in the bottom half. Isabel Vera grounded out but scored Barry from third on the play. | Bentley 3, Barry 1
- B3 | Barry grabbed the lead in the bottom of the third with four runs on five hits. Four straight singles led off the inning and scored the first run. Billard than doubled to right center to clear the bases, bringing home three. | Barry 5, Bentley 3
- B5 | Some crafty base running brought home the first run in the inning. Chandler Barry then homered to deep left field on the solo shot to keep on pounding the scoreboard. | Barry 7, Bentley 3
- B6 | The Bucs were able to put the game away an inning earlier. With two outs and the bases loaded, Barry had an RBI-walk to make it a five-run lead. A pitching change didn't stop the freshman, Billard, to put one over the right field fence for her first career-grand slam on her second collegiate home run. NOTEWORTHY (BENTLEY):
- Billard picked up her first collegiate win in the circle, she threw four innings and picked up a strikeout.
- Samantha Rosenberger had her first scoreless outing this year tossing two shutout innings allowing just two hits and tallying a punch out.
- Five Buccaneers had multi-hit games: Tucker, Shafer, Langlie, Billard (3), and Cameron Marchese.
- Shafer leads the team with five two-hit games.
- Tucker rides a six-game hitting streak.
- Barry, Shafer, and Langlie have all reached safely in each game (8).
- The 13 hits are the most this season for the offense who make it six straight in double digits.
- Billard's seven RBI ties a single game program record set in 2007, it is the most RBI in a game for a freshman.

Barry will head to day two of the long weekend taking on ranked match up of no. 5 Saginaw Valley State and no. 15 East Stroudsburg.
